Montco Govt Unionizes

Under the incomparable leadership of Jim Matthews and Joe Hoeffel, some employees of the county will now be union members.

About 245 county employees working as deputy sheriffs and administrative support personnel in the Sheriff’s Office, Clerk of Courts, Prothonotary, Jury Board, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Coroner’s Office and the Register of Wills’ Office would be represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) District Council 88.

The vote was rather lopsided at 139 in favor to 57 against.

That will look great on a palm card, for Joe Hoeffel anyway.

But this was part of the Joe Hoeffel plan all along. Exactly what he strove fro in the 90s and got: spend, spend, spend. Borrow, borrow, borrow. Hammer the employees to pay for the spending. Added benefit: drive them to unions which, of course, is what Hoeffel favors. Welcome to “MATTHEWS’ WORLD.” As long as Matthews gets to hire is legally challenged buddy, Barry Miller, and his secretary and her husband to jobs their not qualified for, and have everybody call him “Chairman,” Hoeffel can do what he likes. That third place finish by Matthews in the election drives him absolutely bonkers. His jealousy and spite knows no bounds. Matthews let’s Hoeffel and Maza run the government while he tries to “get back at” anyone who Matthews thinks slighted him in the past. Everyone now knows this and Matthews has merely succeeded in ruining himself. So easy for Hoeffel to use him as a tool. The union vote is just another coup for Hoeffel as he dismantles all the GOP built up over the decades with the help of Judas Jim.
