Leftist Scumbag Hacks Palin’s E-Mail, Finds Nothing September 17 2008
Michelle Malkin has the whole story. Essentially an anti-Palin hacker broke into her e-mail by figuring out the answers to her security questions, which was relatively easy since she’s a public figure. The answers to questions about her birthday, hometown, etc are a matter of public record. You might want to make sure your own security questions and e-mail password aren’t things that someone else could easily figure out.
The hacker read all of Gov. Palin’s personal e-mail trying to find something that could harm her. But he found nothing:
I read though the emails… ALL OF THEM… before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family
In an apparent effort to cover his tracks, the hacker gave Gov. Palin’s e-mail address and password to a group of internet miscreants who call themselves “Anonymous”, among other things. But one member of “Anonymous” didn’t like what was going on and blew the whistle. That brought the fun of the rest of the “Anonymous” people to a swift end as the e-mail account was locked.
Take all of this with a grain of salt, because I have no idea why the hacker would be so bold as to post the whole story on the internet for all to see. If he gets caught, he’s going to be in a heck of a lot of trouble… as he should be.
What lengths will these people go to to bring down Sarah Palin? It’s unbelievable. As I said before, every time something like this happens, we need to rally around Sarah more strongly than ever.

Then why won’t she release them. Yeah, after the last eight years of being lied to about everything …….I’m gonna trust a republican.

You are misinformed, buddy. Anonymous has no political affiliation. Anonymous is a leaderless collective of mischief-makers and pranksters who are only interested in making messes and screwing with people for nothing more than a laugh. There was no leftist ploy or real goal other than having some fun joyriding some politicians email account. The media has focused itself on anonymous for some time, but what they cant understand is that anonymous is just the internet equivalent of your high-school gang of hoodlums.

And this equivalent gang of high school hoodlums is going to go where high school hoodlums eventually go hopefully soon:)

Gericault, why don’t YOU release YOUR private, personal emails, just to “prove” that you’re not doing anything illegal? Damned idiot.
“thelulz”, try reading my post before you reply to it. I didn’t say that Anonymous was political. I said that a political-motivated hacker GAVE PALIN’S EMAIL PASSWORD TO ANONYMOUS in order to cover his tracks. Anonymous did not hack Palin’s email; a third party did that. Reading is fundamental!

Those damn leftist pink commie hacker gangs. When will they learn that the white knights of morality won’t let this stand?
As to why the hacker would post it all to the internet: because it’s fun to do so. “Hacking” (and that wasn’t “hacking” so much as social engineering) isn’t really all that fun if the only one who knows about it is you. It’s like making the longest golf shot of your life or making the best pie you’ve ever made. You just need to share it.
Plus, there’s a sense of community about it. And the oft-repeated hacker credo “Information wants to be free”.
Finally, by posting it all to the internet, he has given it immortality of sorts. Once something on the internet, it ain’t ever getting removed (unless somebody takes down all the root servers and computers in the world).
