SCOTUS: Foreign Unlawful Combatant Terrorists Protected by US Constitution June 12 2008
The far-left is celebrating the “restoration” of the US Constitution today, since the US Supreme Court just ruled in a 5 – 4 decision that foreign fighters who are engaged in unlawful war practices and taking part in acts of terrorism should be protected by the United States Constitution and granted the right of habeas corpus. This is a new right which foreign unlawful combatants have never had before. But, history and logic have never been important to the far-left before, so why should now be any different?

What does this mean? Well, it essentially means that a terrorist can launch a sneak attack on our troops over in Afghanistan or Iraq by disregarding the Geneva Conventions, but if our troops manage to capture this terrorist alive and bring him to Gitmo, he can demand to be brought before a judge. Isn’t that wonderful? Hey, according to the far-left, it’s a tremendous victory for humanity and for goodness.
What’s next? Maybe we’ll have to recall troops from the battlefield so that they can go into a court of law and testify against the terrorists who were just shooting at them on said battlefield? I can’t wait!

He will be likely to get between 1-3 supreme court nominations. This alone should make every Hillary supporter and every true conservative think twice about not voting for Obama in November. Despite his position on torture, I would not doubt that he would appoint justices who, like Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and Alito, would err on the side of expanding government power to do terrible things to citizens and aliens alike under the cover of this Orwellian “war.” “
That’s right, “true conservatives” – be sure to vote for Obama. Heh!
Remember: When Americans violate the Geneva Conventions, it’s unbelievably evil and must be punished severely. When foreign Islamic fascists violate the Geneva Conventions, we should reward them with Constitutional rights.
