The DVRPC

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is a pretty powerful player in the Southeast. Why do I say that?

Well because their site says so.

Serving the Greater Philadelphia region for more than 40 years, DVRPC works to foster regional cooperation in a nine-county, two state area. City, county and state representatives work together to address key issues, including transportation, land use, environmental protection and economic development.

So it’s whole role in life is basically to divvy up money from the states and feds to the Southeast and New Jersey.

It’s also quite a score for an up and coming politician (or even an existing one) to be on it.

Which leaves one wonder why Jim Matthews would a) allow Democrat Jim Maza, and freshly appointed Deputy Chief Operation Officer and b) give his seat to Joe Hoeffel. Montgomery County’s third seat belongs to the planning commission directory, who is non-political.

Why would he do that?

Funnily enough, at Tuesday’s Lower Merion Republican suaree, he assured members that county Republicans would not be losing their jobs.

But he didn’t include himself in that listing.

I posted the other day, a picture of King James the Third. I’m wondering if those shouldn’t have been jester’s cockscomb (cap and bells) on his head instead.

Hoeffel keeps clowning Matthews at every turn. How in the world has this past 10 days been better for the GOP?
