Fortress America October 23 2007
U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pennsylvania) said the Bush administration has turned America into an “isolated fortress” when he spoke in Center City yesterday.
“This is not the America we grew up in,” he said.
No, it’s not Mr Senator. On this we agree.

Some Americans did grow up in Fortress America. An attack of on our soil from overseas? Impossible!
Criticizing the president on his strategy in Iraq, Sen. Casey appeared defeatist and urged for a “display of genuine leadership” in Iraq.
Among his goals, the senator said repairing international relationships with U.S. allies was top priority. He introduced legislation for a “comprehensive, regional, diplomatic offensive for more responsibility in the broader international community.”
The specifics of this offensive were not explained, but the senator called on other nations to become rightly invested in Iraq.
“I cannot accept the need for more patience in Iraq,” he said.
“After four years, I can’t see a working solution in Iraq. All I see is short-sighted focus,” he said.
Wow.. I agree with Senator Casey twice in one day.
All is see is short sighted focus. Except in this case, the Senator’s focus doesn’t even go as far as Reuters.
Speaking of Senator Casey, does he still have $15K in Norman Hsu money in his coffers?
