Re: General “Betray Us” September 20 2007
To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.
This passed 72-25 in the Senate.
Senator Casey voted in favor.
It doesn’t mention MoveOn specifically, so does it count as a condemnation?
No.
How can anyone be “for” personal attacks on all members of the armed forces?
I’m not sure.
But we can ask these Senators.
Akaka, Bingaman, Boxer, Brown, Byrd, Clinton, Dodd, Durbin, Feingold, Harkin, Inouye, Kennedy, Kerry, Lautenberg, Levin, Menendez, Murray, Reed, Reid, Rockefeller, Sanders, Schumer, Stabenow, Whitehouse, Wyden
Courageously Senators Obama and Biden stayed out of the fracas by not voting.
John Kerry flipped positions, first saying that the comment was “over the top,” yet voting against it.
John Kerry: For condemnation, before voting against it.
