Blaming Obama

… and here I thought these were local races, and the President had nothing to do with Democrat losses on Tuesday.

Regarding Montgomery County judges…

Still, the [Democrats], buoyed by a recent advantage in voter registration, hoped to elect more than one Democrat in a year in which so many seats were up for grabs. The county’s 19 judges are Republicans. When the new judges are sworn in, the county will have 23.

Democratic Party Chairman Marcel Groen characterized Murphy’s win as historic but said several factors — dissatisfaction with the Obama administration that energized conservative Republicans and a SEPTA strike that hampered some voters’ ability to get to the polls — cut into his party’s chances for further success.

”This clearly was a perfect storm year against us. There’s clearly a mood right now of some concern with respect to the new administration. People are scared,” he said.

As Marcel knows, there aren’t enough conservatives in Montgomery County do that kind of damage. It was independent voters that pushed the Republicans into office.

How many years did it take for Bush to push independents into the D column? 5? 2006 was our thumping. It look President Obama about 9 months… and if you subtract the honeymoon, it’s 6 maybe?

… and a SEPTA strike falls squarely in the union’s lap. So he can blame Democrats twice over for his losses.

Three times, if you count their terrible campaign, “it’s not fair, waaaaaah.” They also spent $200,000 more and ran ads on network TV.
