How They Treat Their Friends August 22 2009
Back in 2006, the Democrats threw Joe Lieberman out of their party. Why? Because he was against them on one issue – the War in Iraq. Lieberman believed (and still believes) that we must win that war. The Democrats believed (up until 2008) that the war was lost, it was George Bush’s Vietnam, and that it was an illegal, immoral war for oil. At least, that’s what they claimed to believe as long as it was politically expedient. Now that they’ve used the war to take over the White House and Congress, they don’t care about it anymore.
The point is that Lieberman was a very loyal liberal Democrat and he was treated like trash by his own party because he refused to go along with their scheme to trade the lives of Iraqi citizens and American troops for votes.
And now another friend of the Democrats is under fire. Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, a progressive-minded businessman who provides benefits to the gay partners of his employees, gives over $1 million a year to animal welfare groups, and gives all but $1 of his pay away to charity, is under attack from liberal Democrats because he had the temerity to disagree with Obama’s health care plan.
Liberal Democrats are actually trying to destroy Mackey’s life simply because he doesn’t think ObamaCare is the way to go, and because he suggested a few alternatives to it.
Folks, this is how the Democrats treat their friends when they dare to disagree with them on an issue. If that’s how they treat their friends, then it’s no wonder that they call conservatives “terrorists”, “fascists”, and “Nazis”! How can we possibly work together with these lunatics?
