Rendell: Let’s Get to Work on This Budget

More important things were in the way, like writing his book.

But, here we are… .19 days into the fiscal year with no budget.

Gov. Ed Rendell said Saturday that “real dialogue” is needed to hammer out a budget agreement, as an impasse that has stripped state government of the ability to pay most of its bills moved toward a fourth week.

The Democratic governor spoke after an unusual weekend session in the Senate, in which the Republican majority readied a response to a Democratic spending proposal that passed the House a day earlier, but was not expected to go anywhere in the upper chamber.

“There has to be real dialogue, there can’t be this passing bills that, you know, are not realistic,” Rendell said.

He also found time to bash Sarah Palin on MSNBC…. so it’s not fair to say he was writing a book.

That being said, I wonder if State Rep Mark Cohen will get a book on the house or at taxpayer expense….
